"Tie(絞って)Dye(染める)"

日本では"絞り染め""と呼ばれて、その技法の多種多様さと緻密さにより世界でも"shibori"と表記される。

古くは6世紀ごろの中国の絹の物や、中南米でもインカ以前の木綿の物など、世界各地で見つかっているそうです。

日本でも歴史は古く、インドからから伝わり、やはり6世紀頃から各地で絞り染めとして確認出来ます。

人々の暮らしの歴史に、古くから伝わり浸透し楽しまれた絞り染め。

それは人々が、その手で生み出し、そして手作業による"揺らぎ"や不確実性による"唯一無二"の美しい模様が生まれるからに違いありません。

その完璧ではないからこその、完璧な美しさに人々は魅了され続けて、"絞り染め"は人の歴史の中に溶け込んでいったのだと思います。

そして現在。

染料の発達もあり、染色、絞り染めはより深遠な、より美しく芸術的な作品が生み出されるようになりました。

Sixths century, shibori was found in China,Latin America, various parts of the world.

Tie-dye has a long history in Japan. It was introduced from India.
Also, In sixth century it found in various areas in Japan.

People enjoyed tie-dye since a long time ago.
Why?
Because People can make only beautiful design by hands.

But, it’s imperfect.
No problem!
People are fascinated with perfect design.
So, tie- dye was filtering into their minds.

Since then, Dye solutions developed and many beautiful products were created.
